The countdown to race day!

Did you know many children in our community are abused or neglected by those they trust? 1 in 5 people live with mental health challenges. Mental health is equally important to your physical health. By participating in this event, you will promote good health and raise money to support programs that help thousands of people in the community who are striving to overcome those challenges.

The Superhero Race benefits two Western New York programs supporting the mental health community. The funding is distributed evenly to a mentoring program for individuals with a mental health challenge facilitated and managed by Compeer of Greater Buffalo and the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program which is facilitated and managed by the Mental Health Association of Erie County, Inc.

Make a friend you will never forget!

Compeer recruits, screens, and matches trained volunteers and mentors in one-to-one supportive friendship relationships with children, adults and seniors who are receiving mental health treatment.

Our wonderful volunteers and mentors become positive role models, help raise self-esteem, increase social and communication skills, and encourage independence for their Compeer friends.

Compeer provides a fun flexible volunteer opportunity that fits into your current lifestyle. There are endless rewards and opportunities for personal growth and satisfaction when you join the Compeer family.

The mission of Erie County CASA is to speak for the best interests of abused and neglected children in the Courts. CASA promotes and supports quality volunteer representation for children, with volunteers advocating to provide each child a safe, permanent, nurturing home, as quickly as possible. CASA believes every child deserves to have the opportunity to thrive and reach their potential.

CASA volunteers are appointed by Family Court Judges to promote the best interests of abused and neglected children involved in Family Court proceedings. The CASA volunteer must research the facts of the case, provide written and/or oral reports to assist the court in identifying concerns, facilitate the resolution of the presenting problems, and monitor progress toward established goals.

The Superhero Foundation, Inc. is a Texas non-profit corporation which is 501(c)(3) tax-exempt. We are headquartered in Austin, Texas. We hope that you will join us in this movement. We hope that you too will have an epiphany. That you will come to know that great things can come from simple actions, from simple good deeds.
Superheroes are those that bring hope to others. And you have a chance every day to be a superhero to those children in your life by showing them love and giving them hope. We dare you to move, to get involved, to make an impact, and to help change this world for the better.

Just by getting involved in this run, you will have made a lasting and positive impact on the lives of many children who have fallen victim to the evils of abuse.

Currently we have close to 30 cities of superheroes.

Every child needs a hero, but abused children need superheroes
